Medical Disclaimer
Mike’s Balance provides health, medical, nutrition and longevity information for educational and research purposes. The site includes evidence reviews, explanations of published research, clinical context, personal observations and exploratory hypotheses. These are not all the same type of evidence; our Editorial & Medical Review Policy explains how they are distinguished.
Not an individual diagnosis or treatment plan
Reading or interacting with Mike’s Balance does not create a doctor-patient relationship. An article cannot account for your full medical history, examination, medications, allergies, laboratory results or imaging. Nothing on this site should be used as a substitute for individual evaluation by an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
Medical authorship does not remove uncertainty
Medical and ENT-related material may be written or reviewed by Mikhail Faranov, MD, an otolaryngologist (ENT physician). A medical credential does not make every statement universally applicable or guarantee that research will not change. Where evidence is uncertain or conflicting, the goal is to state that uncertainty rather than convert it into a diagnosis for the reader.
Personal experiments and observations
Some articles describe personal measurements, supplement experiences, self-experiments or other N=1 observations. These can be useful for generating questions or documenting a reproducible setup, but they do not establish safety or effectiveness for other people. Do not start, stop or change prescription treatment because of a personal experiment described on this site.
Emergencies and urgent symptoms
Mike’s Balance is not an emergency service. If you may be experiencing a medical emergency, seek local emergency care immediately. Time-sensitive symptoms should not be delayed while waiting for information from a website.
Medications, supplements and interactions
Supplements and over-the-counter products can cause adverse effects and can interact with prescription drugs, surgery, pregnancy, laboratory testing and medical conditions. Doses used in research are not automatically appropriate for an individual reader. Discuss material changes to treatment or supplementation with a clinician or pharmacist who knows your medical situation.
Corrections and changing evidence
Medical evidence evolves. Articles may be updated when new guidelines, trials or corrections become available, and updated pages display a modified date. Possible factual or sourcing errors can be reported through the Contact page.
